If you’re wondering how much is a pre-purchase car inspection in QLD, here is the short answer for our service: the pre-purchase car inspection cost Queensland buyers pay with us starts at $190 for a basic check, $250 for our most popular Standard inspection, and $395 for the Premium inspection. Electric vehicle packages run from $250 to $450.
Those are our own prices, taken straight from our packages page. Other inspectors charge different amounts, and what you get for the money varies a lot, so it pays to compare what’s actually included before you book.
Every car inspection we do is on-site. The QLD car inspector comes to the car, whether it’s at the seller’s house, a dealership, an auction yard or your workplace, anywhere across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.

Mobile Car Inspection Cost QLD vs Workshop Inspection
When people compare mobile vs workshop car inspection cost, they usually forget to count their own time. A workshop inspection means booking a slot, getting the car there (often the seller has to agree to that) and waiting around. With a mobile inspection, the inspector turns up where the car already is.
Our mobile car inspection cost QLD is simply the package price in the table above. You’re not paying extra for the convenience of us coming to you, and you don’t need to be there for the inspection if you can’t make it. Your report arrives digitally with photos so you can read it at home.
If you’re comparing us with another provider, ask them three things: is the PPSR check included, do you get a road test, and how many photos are in the report?
EV Battery Inspection Cost and Hybrid Car Inspection Cost
Electric and hybrid cars need a different kind of check, because the most expensive part of the car is the battery, and you can’t judge that by looking at it.
EV battery inspection cost: our electric vehicle inspections use Aviloo-certified battery testing.
- EV Battery Health Test Only: $250. You get the battery State of Health percentage, remaining capacity, current range against original range, and an official Aviloo PDF report.
- EV Premium Inspection + Battery Test: $450. A full 200+ point inspection (exterior, interior, brakes, suspension, tyres, charging system, EV drivetrain and warning systems) plus the Aviloo battery test, PPSR certificate and a market valuation range.
Hybrid car inspection cost: our hybrid inspections look at the hybrid battery, charging system and accessible high-voltage components on top of the usual mechanical and safety checks. Add the Hybrid Check ($60) to a Standard inspection, or choose Premium ($395), which includes it.
Is a Pre Purchase Inspection Worth It?
Fair question. You’re already spending thousands on a car, so why spend another $250?
Because the car inspection costs a small fraction of what it can save you. It either finds problems you can use to negotiate a lower price, or it tells you to walk away from a car that would have cost you far more later.
Here’s a real example. David, one of our Sunshine Coast customers, had a car inspected before buying. The report turned up issues he used at the negotiating table, and he got $2,000 off the price. Another Brisbane customer told us the inspector found problems she’d never have noticed and kept her from buying a lemon.
On top of that, our Standard and Premium inspections include a PPSR certificate, which checks whether the car has money owing on it, has been written off or is reported stolen. Finding that out after you’ve paid is a very bad day.
So is a pre purchase car inspection worth it? For almost any used car, yes. The more expensive or complicated the car is, the more it matters.
Cheap Pre Purchase Car Inspection: What to Watch For
Looking for a cheap pre purchase car inspection? Our Basic inspection at $190 is built for that. It covers the essentials: general condition, engine or motor, tyres, VIN and odometer verification, and a short road test.
But be careful with anything that’s much cheaper than that. A very low price usually means no road test, no diagnostic scan, no PPSR check or a report with barely any photos. If an inspection doesn’t tell you anything you couldn’t see yourself on a test drive, it isn’t saving you money.
For a car you’re paying more than a few thousand dollars for, we recommend the Standard inspection at $250. It’s where most of our customers land, because it adds the fault code scan, underbody check, PPSR certificate and the longer road test.
